Country Sports Insurance
We understand how important it is to our Members to be sufficiently covered for every situation whilst participating in Country Sports. To give you peace of mind, every C³ Membership includes specialist insurance under our C³ Master Policies.
£12 Million Public Liability Cover Limit of Indemnity: £12,000,000 in any one occurrence.
Indemnity is provided in respect of claims made against any C³ Member for compensation and costs and expenses (incurred with consent) as a result of:
- accidental bodily injury;
- accidental property damage; or
- obstruction, loss of amenities, trespass, nuisance or interference with any right of way, light, air or water:
caused by an event occurring during participation in an Insured Activity.
£12 Million Products Liability Cover Limit of Indemnity: £12,000,000 in the aggregate.
Indemnity is provided in respect of claims made against any C³ Member for compensation and costs and expenses (incurred with consent), as a result of:
- the sale or distribution of shot or hunted game, to family, friends or local retailers in accordance with the Food Standards Agency Wild Game Guide
- the sale or distribution of collected honey, beeswax and/or other bee products to family, friends or local retailers in accordance with The Honey (England) Regulations 2015
up to a total value of £5,000 per annum and, where applicable, declared to HMRC, during the period of Membership. All game meat and honey products must be the result of recreational shooting, hunting and beekeeping activities only.
£10,000 Personal Accident Cover Standard Capital Benefit: £10,000.
If, during the Membership period, a C³ Member suffers an accidental bodily injury whilst engaged in an Insured Activity and such activity is the sole, direct and independent cause of the injury, which occasions disablement and/or medical treatment within 12 calendar months of the accident, then we shall pay the benefits, up to £10,000, as stated in the Summary of Insurance.
Enhanced Personal Accident Insurance of £50,000 may be purchased in conjunction with any C³ Standard Membership for an additional £9.95.
£250,000 Legal Expenses Insurance (Premium Only) Shotgun and Firearm Certificate Appeal & Criminal Prosecution Defence
Claim Limit: £250,000 in any one claim & £250,000 in any one period of Membership. Policy excess £500.
Certificate Appeal: Professional expenses in relation to an appeal or representation to a police licensing authority, court or other mandatory body following:
- Refusal to grant or renew a shotgun or firearm certificate for the Insured
- Revocation of or refusal to vary the Insured's firearm certificate
- Partial revocation of the Insured's firearm certificate
- Revocation of the Insured's shotgun certificate
- Imposition of conditions upon the Insured's firearm certificate and/or the refusal to vary conditions imposed on the Insured's firearm certificate
- Refusal to grant a certificate or to renew a certificate for an Air Weapon, where such certificate is a requirement.
Criminal Prosecution Defence: Professional expenses to represent the Insured after a criminal investigation has commenced against them in relation to:
- The possession of a firearm or shotgun without a certificate where the Insured argues that a certificate is not required, due to the status of the weapon
- The Insured's breach of exemptions contained in Firearms Legislation
- The possession of an air weapon, shotgun or firearm, in circumstances alleged to be contrary to exemptions in Firearms Legislation.

The C³ Summary of Insurance provides an overview of the Insurance Benefits provided under the C³ Master Policies. Please read this to ensure the cover afforded by C³ Membership is suitable for your needs.
Territorial Limits
Valid throughout the United Kingdom (England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, the Scilly Isles, the Isle of Man, Channel Islands) and Republic of Ireland. European Union and Worldwide Travel Extensions are also available.

Excess
There is no excess to Members on any Insurance Benefit included within the C³ Standard Membership. Please see individual excesses for our Optional Insurance Benefits.
Validity
All Insurance Benefits are valid for the full term of each Country Cover Club Membership, subject to full payment of Membership fees.
Terms & Conditions
Members do not have a direct 'Insured to Insurer/Underwriter' relationship with the underwriters of C³'s Master Policies. Claims must be made through C³, using current claim procedures, and will be processed as per the terms of the policies in effect on the date of the occurrence. C³ reserves the right to add, amend or remove Membership and Insurance Benefits at any time, without prior notice or consultation. All Insurance Benefits are underwritten by carefully selected specialist and leading UK Insurers in the Lloyds and London market, all of whom are fully UK Authorised and FCA regulated. As well as Shooting Insurance, the C³ Master Policies cover the most comprehensive range of activities available under any Country Sports Members' scheme. One Membership covers you for the all following recreational activities:
Shooting
All legal Sporting Shooting and activities connected therewith; Shotgun, Airgun and Rifle Shooting, Breech or Muzzle Loading and Black Powder Shooting, Target and Clay Shooting including Trapping and Scoring, Live Quarry Shooting, Practical Shooting (including Shotgun, Pistol, Revolver and MiniRifle), Pistol Target Shooting, Bell Target Shooting, Air-Soft, Paintball and Laser Tag. Excluding Combat Shooting.
Hunting
Hunting Game, Deer, Vermin and any other legal quarry and activities connected therewith; Stalking, Rough Shooting / Walked Up Game, Driven Game, Beating, Loading and Picking Up, Wild Fowling, Water Fowling, Vermin/Pest Control, Trapping and Humane Dispatch.
Falconry, Hawking & Ferreting
Hunting, Display and Racing.
Working With Dogs / Gundogs
Gundog Working and Training, Stalking and Flushing Out, Retrieving, Protecting Game, Terrier Work, Hunting Rabbits and Rats, Rescue of Wild Animals, Dog Trials, Dog Displays and Dog Training. All subject to compliance with legislation on ownership of dangerous animals.

Axe & Blunt Spear Throwing
For demonstrations, by trained individuals only and subject to proper H&S assessment and written procedures.
Re-enactment, Living History, Live Action Role Play & Cosplay
Including Blank Firing Weapons, Foam/Latex Props and Combat Systems and Blunted Steel/Metal props for competitive fighting displays but excluding Live Edged or Non-Blunted Pointed Weapons. Also including recreational Blacksmithing. Also including the use of pyrotechnic effects categorised as 1.4g and 1.4s by qualified persons only and subject to full risk assessments and health and safety requirements being adhered to. Also including the caged/penned display and supervised handling of tame domestic animals up to a maximum weight of 250kg.
Excluding any bodily injury caused, or contributed to, by any participant to any other participant whilst participating in re-enactment or any contact sport.
Bee Keeping
Care and management of bee colonies. Excluding swarm collection from 3rd party property (please see our Professional Activities Extension if you require this cover).
Rambling, Cross Country Running & Cycling
Including Hiking, Walking, Hill-Walking, Obstacle and Mud Running, and Canicross including Bikejor and Scooters. Also including cross-country cycling; on private land only, public roads may be crossed on foot. Organised events only and excluding travel to and from such events.
Bushcraft
Including Firecraft, Shelter Building, Wild Camping, Nature Watching, Foraging and Cooking with 'Wild' Foods including Butchering, Nature Collecting, Pond Dipping and Insect/Butterfly Trapping and Netting. Including the use of hand tools but excluding the use of chainsaws and any other mechanical cutting device. Cover provided only to Members who have attended an authorised course with a qualified bushcraft instructor and have been assessed and certified as being competent to carry out bushcraft activities outside of the controlled instructional area.
Foot Followers Of The Hunt
Excluding any equestrian related incidents.
Use of Watercraft
Motorised Boat not exceeding 10 Horsepower (hp), Hand, Oar, Paddle, Pedal, Pole and Wind Powered Craft. All not exceeding 10m in length and only whilst on inland waterways or inshore waters and excluding all white water.
Country Pursuits Photography
UK territorial limits only.
Urban Photography
Photography, videography and interviewing people in urban areas — i.e. city, town, street. Also known as Urban Editing or Candid Photography. UK territorial limits only.
General Exclusions: Any equestrian related activity. Any bodily injury caused, or contributed to, by any participant to any other participant whilst participating in a match or a practice of any contact sport. Any activity where appropriate permissions have not been granted by the land owner or relevant authority. Any activity where the rules & regulations of the appropriate governing body have not been adhered to. Any activity carried out in a professional capacity. Any illegal activity or any activity carried out illegally. Travel to and from any activity.
