  • accidental bodily injury;

  • obstruction, loss of amenities, trespass, nuisance or interference with any right of way, light, air or water:

caused by an event occurring during participation in an Insured Activity.

Limit of Indemnity: £12,000,000 (£12 million) in the aggregate.

Indemnity is provided in respect of claims made against any C³ Member for compensation and costs and expenses (incurred with consent), as a result of:

  • the sale or distribution of shot or hunted game, to family, friends or local retailers in accordance with the Food Standards Agency Wild Game Guide
  • the sale or distribution of collected honey, beeswax and/or other bee products to family, friends or local retailers in accordance with The Honey (England) Regulations 2015

Standard Capital Benefit: £10,000

If, during the Membership period, a C³ Member suffers an accidental bodily injury whilst engaged in an Insured Activity and such activity is the sole, direct and independent cause of the injury, which occasions disablement and/or medical treatment within 12 calendar months of the accident, then we shall pay the benefits, up to £10,000, as stated in the Summary of Insurance.

Enhanced Personal Accident Insurance of £50,000 may be purchased in conjunction with any C³ Standard Membership for an additional £9.95.

It is not a legal requirement for archers to have insurance however it is definitely prudent to do so as the cost of defence or damages can be substantial if a claim is made against you for injuring someone else or causing accidental damage to property. Many archery clubs and grounds will require you to show proof of Public Liability Insurance before setting foot onto the range because it protects them as well as you.

At £12million C³'s Public Liability cover is higher than most providers are able to offer and covers all legal form of archery including longbows, crossbows and compound bows, giving you the peace of mind that, in the unlikely event of an accident, you are fully covered.

C³'s Master Policies cover archery anywhere in the UK and Republic of Ireland which means that, if you also practise archery at home or on private land, our insurance will cover you provided you have the land owner's permission. As with any sport it is expected that Members take all reasonable precautions to prevent an accident so we always recommend archers carry out a full risk assessment before undertaking any private practise.

The cost of archery insurance can vary depending on a number of factors, including the level of Public Liability cover provided and the length of time cover is required. When comparing policies, it is important to consider what is included in each package rather than focusing solely on price. Many lower-cost options carry an excess and provide lower levels of cover.

C³ Membership offers a more comprehensive package, including £12 million Public Liability cover with no excess and the option to add enhanced Personal Accident and Loss of Income cover. We also provide a range of additional Membership Benefits and flexible options, with short-term Membership available from £19.95 and annual Membership from £35.95, allowing you to tailor your protection to your individual needs.

To become a C³ Member, please complete the application form on the Buy Now page.

The C³ Master Policies include cover for recreational bow hunting where this is legal. Please note that, as bow hunting is currently not legal in the UK or Republic of Ireland, cover for hunting with a bow and arrow can only be provided if the Member has a European or Worldwide Travel Extension and bow hunting is legal in the respective territory.

C³ Members do not have a direct Insured to Insurer/Underwriter relationship with the underwriters of C³s Master Policies. Claims must be made through C³, using current claim procedures, and will be processed under policies in effect on the date of the occurrence, as per policies Ts & Cs. For full details of all of the Insurance Benefits available to C³ members, including our Master Policy wording and full terms and conditions, please visit the Country Sports Insurance page.
