Our cover is designed for individuals taking part in legal axe throwing and blunt spear throwing activities, whether practising at dedicated venues, competing in organised events, training to improve accuracy and technique, or participating in historical re-enactments.
Safety is a key part of every throwing discipline and, while accidents are uncommon, they can still occur. Having the right insurance in place can provide valuable protection and peace of mind while taking part in these activities. Under the C³ Master Policy, Members benefit from specialist cover and access to a range of insurance and membership benefits designed to support their chosen sport.

It is not a legal requirement for axe throwers to have insurance however it is definitely prudent to do so as the cost of defence or damages can be substantial if a claim is made against you for injuring someone else or causing accidental damage to property. Many axe clubs and grounds will require you to show proof of Public Liability Insurance before setting foot onto the range because it protects them as well as you.

At £12million C³'s Public Liability cover is higher than most providers are able to offer and covers all legal form of axe throwing including blunt spear throwing giving you the peace of mind that, in the unlikely event of an accident, you are fully covered.

We know how important, and expensive, equipment can be for Country Sports, and axe throwing is no different. It can be a hugely frustrating experience for axe throwers should their axe become damaged or get stolen and so we are pleased to offer an option to cover your equipment as an added extra to your Country Cover Club membership. We currently offer 3 packages for insuring sporting equipment:

  • SILVER - £2,000 cover - £99.95 per annum
  • GOLD - £5,000 cover – £199.95 per annum
  • PLATINUM - £10,000 cover - £399.95 per annum

We are able to cover axes and any other items you wish to insure that are relevant to axe and blunt spear throwing. The equipment cover also covers a wide range of sporting equipment relevant to the other activities we insure. The vast majority of common household insurance policies will not cover specialist sporting equipment, especially once it has left your home which means, due to the nature of the activity, axe throwers often rely on additional insurance to make sure their equipment is fully insured.

C³'s Master Policies cover axe throwing anywhere in the UK and Republic of Ireland which means that, if you also practise axe throwing at home or on private land, our insurance will cover you provided you have the land owner's permission. As with any sport it is expected that Members take all reasonable precautions to prevent an accident so we always recommend axe throwers carry out a full risk assessment before undertaking any private practise.

The cost of axe throwing insurance can vary from provider to provider. It is important to consider the level of cover received for the price, rather than just choosing the cheapest provider. Many budget insurers have lower cover levels for Public Liability and charge an excess in the event of a claim. At Country Cover Club, we know the Country Sports market and what our customers expect. There is no excess on our policies and our membership includes, not only Public Liability Insurance, but also personal injury and a 24 hour legal advice helpine, creating a more complete insurance package. Our memberships are extremely flexible; starting from £18.95, with full annual cover available for £32.95, and a number of optional extras that can be added to build an insurance package that suits your needs. To become a C³ Member please complete the application form on the Buy Now page.

Members do not have a direct 'Insured to Insurer/Underwriter' relationship with the underwriters of C³'s Master Policies. Claims must be made through C³, using current claim procedures, and will be processed under policies in effect on the date of the occurrence, as per policies T's and C's.For full details of all of the Insurance Benefits available to C³ members, including our Master Policy wording and full terms and conditions, please visit the Country Sports Insurance page.
