Yes, working dogs used for recreational Country Sports are eligible for insurance through Vetsure Pet Insurance®, which includes policies covering both accidents and illnesses. These policies are specifically designed to include veterinary treatment for injuries related to hunting and shooting activities.
It is not a legal requirement to insure your dog in the UK. However, securing pet insurance is advisable as it helps manage unforeseen veterinary expenses, ensuring your dog receives necessary care without financial constraints.
Working dogs can be excellent household pets if they are provided with adequate training and care. They are typically intelligent and loyal but do require more exercise and mental stimulation than other breeds. It's important to consider whether you can accommodate their high-energy needs.

New policies are only available for dogs and cats from 8 weeks old. 'Accident Only' policies are available for pets which are 10 years old or older. Discounts are applied consecutively.
